Like most of Caladan buyers, I had to wait way longer than expected to receive them. BUT, after receiving them and setting them up, have zero regrets on the purchase. Caladans are a big bang for the buck speaker at this price point. If you have a room that allows them to be pulled out well away from the rear and side walls and an amp powerful enough to control the dual woofers, you will be amazed.
I agree with your sentiments., and well worth the wait. There are several design improvements since I had placed my order that were included in my shipment to my delight: improved packaging, fully assembled minus the footers, improved angle bracket for more rigid support, neater wire routing, and improved crossover and input terminal packaging on a robust plate that lends itself to better thermal management and easier repair. I have been breaking the speakers in with a repeated low frequency sweep to settle in suspensions and electronics. Having said that, I found the speakers stage width and depth shockingly large considering I am limited on placement, and the imaging was such the speakers disappeared. I am spaced just over 6 feet apart and 7 to the listener in an L shaped room 20x32. I have them pulled 28 inches from the front wall. I will share more as I get them broken in and connected to my tube amps over the next weeks.
